Foods That Can Make You Happy

Most of us think that comfort foods are terrible for us and that we have to keep away from them. Often, if your comfort food is made of candy or other junk foods, this can be true. Otherwise, comfort foods can be extremely healthy and good for you. Several foods honestly do raise your mood when you consume them. If you are feeling a little bit down and you’re in need of a happiness pick me up, try a few of these.

Eggs, believe it or not, are wonderful for helping you battle depression. Just make sure that you do not throw out the egg yolk. The yolk is the most crucial part of the egg iwhen it comes to helping elevate your mood. Eggs, specifically the egg yolks, are loaded with B vitamins. These B vitamins are great for helping to boost your mood. This is because these vitamins improve the function of your brain’s neural transmitters (the parts of the brain that tell you how to feel). Consume an egg and cheer up!

Make a trail mixfrom a variety of seeds and nuts. Almonds, cashews, peanuts, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, and so on are all great for improving your mood. This is possible as these foods are high in magnesium which raises your production of serotonin. Serotonin is referred to as the “feel good” chemical substance and it tells your brain how you should be feeling day in and day out. The higher your serotonin levels, the more pleasant you will feel. Not only that but nuts, in particular, are a great protein food source.

Cold water fish are excellent for eating if you are wanting to fight depression. Cold water fish such as tuna, trout and wild salmon are rich in DHA and omega-3 fats. These are two things that raise the quality and the function of your brain’s gray matter. It’s true: eating a tuna fish sandwich can earnestly elevate your mood.

Grains can be good for driving away a terrible mood. Barley, millet, quinoa, etc are terrific at helping you feel happier. These foods can help you feel full for longer too, helping you feel better. Feeling famished can be terrible! The reason these grains are so wonderful for your mood is that they are not difficult for your stomach to digest. You digest them faster than other foods which can help increase your blood sugar levels, which, in turn, helps make you feel happier, mood wise.

Green tea is excellent for moods. You just knew green tea had to be mentioned, right? Green tea is packed full of an amino acid referred to as L-theanine. Studies show that this specific amino acid can actually stimulate brain waves. This will improve your brain’s concentration while at the same loosening up the rest of your body. You likely already knew it is not hard to get healthy when you consume green tea. Now you are aware that green tea can help improve your mood too!

As you can see, you don’t need to stuff your face with junk food when you wish to feel better! Try some of these hints instead.
