  1. Get 200 g Cooked Basmati Rice
  2. Prepare 200 ml Tomato Sauce
  3. Get 150 g Baby Button Mushrooms
  4. Prepare 1-2 Ramiro Peppers (2 if they're small)
  5. Prepare 1 Red Onion
  6. Get 3 Cloves Garlic
  7. Get 4 Babycorn
  8. Make ready 3 Green Chillies
  9. Get Ginger
  10. Get Fresh Basil
  11. Prepare Herbs and Spices
  12. Get Olive Oil

We went with bell pepper, broccolini, and asparagus, but go with whatever is available and in season for you. Spicy Risotto Rice is an excellent source of energy, especially energy-giving carbohydrates, which are used in the body for brain performance, physical activity, bodily functions and everyday growth and repair. After carbohydrate, protein is the second most abundant constituent of rice. Heat coconut oil in a large saucepan or dutch oven over medium-high heat.

Instructions to make Spicy Red Risotto (Vegan):
  1. Cook the rice in salt water. Slice the Ramiro peppers into chunks, dice the onion, garlic, chillies, babycorn and fresh basil. I like whole mushrooms, but you could slice them in half as well.
  2. Pour the tomato sauce into a cup or a bowl. Add the fresh basil to it, as well as herbs and spices (turmeric, chives, herbes de provence, chilli flakes, salt and pepper). Grate a bit of ginger into the sauce. Mix it all together.
  3. Coat a frying pan or wok with olive oil. Add the onion, garlic, chillies and babycorn all at once. Fry over medium-high heat until the onion softens up and attains a slightly golden-brown colour.
  4. Add the mushrooms and the Ramiro peppers to the pan. Stir periodically and fry over medium heat until the mushrooms and peppers soften up.
  5. Add the sauce and stir to mix it all together. Simmer for 5 minutes over medium heat.
  6. Add the rice, mix it all together, and simmer for 3 minutes while stirring periodically.
  7. Turn of the heat and serve the meal. Decorate with chives. Enjoy! 🙂

This is because these nuts are rich in magnesium, which helps to increase serotonin production. Serotonin is known as the “feel good” chemical and it tells your brain how you should be feeling all the time. The more serotonin you have, the happier you will feel. Nuts, on top of raising your mood, can be a great source of protein.

Cold water fish are wonderful for eating if you are wanting to battle depression. Salmon, herring, tuna fish, mackerel, trout, etcetera, they’re all loaded with omega-3s and DHA. These are two substances that increase the quality and function of the grey matter in your brain. It’s true: consuming a tuna fish sandwich can greatly raise your mood.

It’s not hard to fight your bad mood when you are eating grains. Barley, quinoa, millet, teff, etc are all excellent for helping you feel happier. They help you feel full also which can really help to better your mood. It’s not difficult to feel a little bit off when you feel famished! The reason these grains are so wonderful for your mood is that they are not hard for your body to digest and process. They are easier to digest than other foods which helps raise your blood sugar levels and that, in turn, improves your mood.

Green tea is really excellent for your mood. You were just waiting to read that in this article, weren’t you? Green tea is loaded with an amino acid referred to as L-theanine. Studies have found that this amino acid essentially induces brain waves. This will better your brain’s concentration while simultaneously relaxing the rest of your body. You likely already knew it is not difficult to get healthy when you consume green tea. And now you are aware that it can help you be happier too!
