Homemade Pasta

Hey everyone, it’s John, welcome to my recipe site. Today, we’re going to prepare a distinctive dish, homemade pasta. One of my favorites. This time, I will make it a little bit tasty. This will be really delicious.

Homemade Pasta is one of the most popular of recent trending foods in the world. It is simple, it is fast, it tastes delicious. It is enjoyed by millions daily. They are fine and they look wonderful. Homemade Pasta is something which I’ve loved my whole life.

Consistently great and easy pasta dough. This makes really great homemade linguine or ravioli for a manual pasta machine. If its too sticky, just roll a bit in flour. Make a well in the flour, add the slightly beaten egg, and mix.

To get started with this particular recipe, we must prepare a few components. You can have homemade pasta using 6 ingredients and 8 steps. Here is how you can achieve that.

The ingredients needed to make Homemade Pasta:
  1. Take 150 grams Bread (strong) flour
  2. Make ready 50 grams Cake flour
  3. Take 2 Eggs
  4. Take 1 pinch Salt
  5. Prepare 1 tbsp Olive oil
  6. Take 1 Bread flour for dusting

Add all ingredients to a food processor. Process until mixture starts to form a ball. You should knead the dough for at about ten minutes until it bouncers back when pressed down with your finger. You may want to start with a little less water depending on the size of your eggs and moistness of your flour.

Steps to make Homemade Pasta:
  1. Make a well in the center of the flour, and break the eggs into it. Add the salt and olive oil, stir until the dough becomes crumbly, and gather the dough into a ball.
  2. Knead the dough well until the surface is smooth, wrap with plastic wrap, and let it rest for a few hours in the refrigerator. Take out and cut into 2-3 portions.
  3. Roll out the dough and adjust the thickness and width so that it easily fits into the pasta machine. It might be easier if you start off by rolling out the dough just a little thinner than 1 cm.
  4. <Rolling out the dough> It will be easier to work with a firmer dough. Flatten out the dough using the pasta machine first on the thickest setting and gradually going (I turn my dial 7 -> 5 -> 3…1) thinner and thinner as the dough stretches. Be sure to flour the pasta.
  5. Send the dough through the machine as you slowly turn the hand crank. Catch the dough from the other side being careful not to stretch the pasta.
  6. According to my pasta machine, when the thickness dial is set to No. 2, I attach the 2 mm width cutter, and when the thickness dial is set to No. 1, I attach the 6 mm width cutter. Let the rolled out dough rest for a while.
  7. Cutting the dough: Flour the pasta dough, and send it through the 6 mm cutter as you slowly turn the hand crank. Hang the finished pasta on a drying rack or spread on a baking tray to dry.
  8. If not using the pasta immediately, store in an air-tight container, and chill in the refrigerator, or freeze it to have it keep for longer. Boil the pasta for about 2 minutes while keeping an eye on them.

You should knead the dough for at about ten minutes until it bouncers back when pressed down with your finger. You may want to start with a little less water depending on the size of your eggs and moistness of your flour. This simple fresh pasta recipe yields delicious noodles you can cut into virtually any shape, from spaghetti to lasagna, ravioli to fettuccine. Once you learn the technique, it's quick to make, and you can experiment with flavorings inside the dough, as well as a universe of sauces and toppings. The main pitfall of homemade pasta is thickness.

Use Food to Boost Your Mood

Many of us have been taught to believe that comfort foods are bad and must be avoided. If your comfort food is candy or junk food this might be true. Otherwise, comfort foods can be really healthy and good for you. Some foods honestly do boost your mood when you consume them. When you feel a little down and are needing an emotional pick-me-up, try a few of these.

Eggs, you might be amazed to find out, are wonderful at battling depression. Just make sure that you do not throw away the yolk. Every time you would like to cheer yourself up, the egg yolk is the most crucial part of the egg. Eggs, particularly the egg yolks, are rich in B vitamins. These B vitamins are great for helping to boost your mood. This is because they help in bettering the function of your neural transmitters, the components of your brain that dictate your mood. Try consuming a few eggs to cheer up!

Put together a trail mixfrom different seeds and nuts. Almonds, cashews, peanuts, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, etcetera are all good for raising your mood. This is possible as these foods are rich in magnesium which raises your production of serotonin. Serotonin is the “feel good” chemical that directs your brain how you feel at all times. The more serotonin you have, the more pleasant you are going to feel. Not only that but nuts, particularly, are a terrific protein source.

Cold water fish are great for eating if you are wanting to fight depression. Cold water fish like tuna, trout and wild salmon are chock full of DHA and omega-3 fats. DHA and omega-3s are two things that promote the quality and the function of your brain’s gray matter. It’s true: chomping on a tuna fish sandwich can basically help you fight back depression.

It’s easy to drive away your bad mood when you eat grains. Quinoa, millet, teff and barley are all actually great for helping raise your happiness levels. They fill you up better and that can help improve your moods also. Feeling starved can really make you feel awful! These grains can help your mood elevate because it’s easy for your body to digest them. These foods are easier to digest than others which helps kick start a rise in your blood glucose which in turn brings up your mood to a happier place.

Your mood could truly be helped by green tea. You were just expecting to read that here, weren’t you? Green tea has been found to be packed full of an amino acid known as L-theanine. Studies have discovered that this amino acid actually stimulates brain waves. This helps improve your mental energy while at the same time making the rest of your body more relaxed. You likely already knew it is not difficult to be healthy when you consume green tea. Now you know that green tea can improve your mood too!

So you see, you don’t need junk food or foods that are bad for you to feel better! Try some of these instead!
