  1. Get 1 net 100 grams Taro root
  2. Make ready Water (for boiling)
  3. Prepare 3 tbsp Tapioca powder
  4. Make ready 1 tbsp Katakuriko
  5. Take 1 tbsp White sugar
  6. Prepare 3 grams Purple yam powder
  7. Get Syrup
  8. Take 50 grams White sugar
  9. Take 100 ml Water
  10. Make ready 5 Goji berries
Steps to make Taro Dessert (Taro Balls + Sweet Syrup):
  1. Peel the taro. Boil in water until soft. Remove from the water, then mash while still hot. Add the tapioca powder, katakuriko, white sugar, and purple yam powder, and mix well.
  2. Use a spoon to take out about 10 g worth at a time and use both hands to shape into balls. This time, I made 19 as shown in the picture.
  3. Bring water to a boil, add the taro balls, and boil. Once they bob to the surface, they should be done boiling. Remove the taro, then clean with cold water.
  4. Make the syrup. Bring water to a boil and dissolve the sugar. Add the washed taro balls into the syrup and it's done If you make the syrup first, you can make it into a cold dessert. A lot of people like eating it hot during the cold winter months.
  5. How about that? It's so chewy!
  6. For the syrup, you can sauté a bit of light brown sugar until it becomes a caramel-like color, then add a bit of water and simmer for a bit to make a caramel-colored syrup.

Foods That Can Make You Happy

Many of us have been conditioned to think that comfort foods are bad and to be avoided. Sometimes, if your comfort food is candy or another junk food, this holds true. Other times, though, comfort foods can be totally nutritious and it’s good for you to consume them. A number of foods honestly do improve your mood when you eat them. If you seem to feel a little bit down and need a happiness pick me up, try a couple of these.

Eggs, you may be amazed to discover, are fantastic at battling depression. You should see to it, though, that what you make includes the yolk. The yolk is the most important part of the egg in terms of helping you cheer up. Eggs, the egg yolks particularly, are rich in B vitamins. The B vitamin family can be terrific for boosting your mood. This is because they help your neural transmitters–the parts of your brain that affect your mood–run better. Eat an egg and jolly up!

Put together a trail mix from seeds and/or nuts. Peanuts, cashews, sunflower seeds, almonds, pumpkin seeds, etc are all fantastic for helping to raise your mood. This is because seeds and nuts have plenty of magnesium which raises your brain’s serotonin levels. Serotonin is the “feel good” chemical substance that tells your brain how you feel day in and day out. The more serotonin you have, the happier you are going to feel. Not only that, nuts, particularly, are a terrific source of protein.

Cold water fish are excellent if you want to feel happier. Salmon, herring, tuna, mackerel, trout, etc, they’re all loaded with omega-3 fatty acids and DHA. Omega-3 fatty acids and DHA are two things that truly help the grey matter in your brain run a lot better. It’s true: eating a tuna fish sandwich can seriously boost your mood.

Some grains are actually wonderful for driving away bad moods. Quinoa, barley, teff, millet, etc are all great for helping you feel better. These grains fill you up better and that can help improve your moods as well. Feeling hungry can be awful! The reason these grains help your mood so much is that they are not hard to digest. You digest these grains faster than other things which can help boost your blood sugar levels, which, in turn, helps make you feel better, mood wise.

Your mood could really be helped by green tea. You were just expecting to read that, weren’t you? Green tea is loaded with an amino acid referred to as L-theanine. Studies prove that this specific amino acid can essentially stimulate brain waves. This helps better your mental focus while having a relaxing effect on the rest of your body. You were already aware that green tea could help you be so much healthier. Now you know that green tea helps you to elevate your moods as well!

Now you realize that junk food isn’t necessarily what you need to eat when you want to help your moods get better. Try several of these instead!
