The ingredients needed to make Amla Chutney:
  1. Get 4 amla/avla(taro root)
  2. Make ready 1/4 cup dry coconut
  3. Get 3-5 green chillies
  4. Make ready 1 tsp cumin seeds
  5. Get 1 tsp Jaggery
  6. Prepare to taste Salt
  7. Make ready 1 tsp oil
  8. Make ready Temepering
  9. Get 1 tsp oil
  10. Prepare 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  11. Take 5-6 curry leaves
  12. Prepare 1 dried red chilli
Steps to make Amla Chutney:
  1. Wash and dry the avla properly.. Cut into small pieces or you can even grate
  2. Cut or grate the dry coconut
  3. In a pan heat oil and add oil, green chillies and coconut and fry for 5-10 mins till the coconut is slightly brown.. Do not burn
  4. Transfer the fried coconut and avla into the jar add salt, jaggery and cumin seeds and grind to a fine paste..
  5. Make tempering and add tonthe chutney.. You can serve immediately or can also store it for 3-4 days in refrigerator..
