  2. Take 7-8 arvi(taro root) skinout and cut into half
  3. Take 1 big tomatoes chopped

  5. Take 1 tsp ginger garlic paste

  8. Prepare 1 bay leaf
  9. Take 2 red chillies

  11. Make ready 1/2 tsp whole cumin seeds

  15. Prepare 1 tsp turmeric powder

Instructions to make Bengali Gati kochu diye chicken curry with arbi:
  1. Marinate first chicken with salt, little turmeric and 1/2 tsp mustard oil for at least 30 mins.
  2. Boiled arvi for 2-3 mins. If arvi are very good, not causing itchy then not required to boil.
  3. Heat 1 tsp oil in a kadai, add whole cumin. Then add chicken along with arvi and fry for 2-5 mins in medium heat. Continuous stirring is required for this step. Keep aside chicken and arvi.
  4. Now in the same kadai, add rest of oil, add rest of whole masala. When aroma arise, then add chopped onions. Fry onion till golden then add ginger garlic paste, along with chopped tomatoes and slitted green chillies. In this point add chicken and arvi and start cooking in low to medium flame. Add cumin powder when gravy leaves oil.
  5. In that point add turmeric, salt, garlic cloves and hot water. Add water as per your requirement. Then boiled in high flame with lid. Boiled untill chicken cooked.
